Introduction to mindfulness

If you are interested in mindfulness and wondering where to start, why not try an eight week introductory course? The course will cover ‘what is mindfulness’ and how to be present, calming monkey mind and dealing with automatic thoughts. It looks at turning to difficult situations and understanding that thoughts are not facts, taking care of yourself and maintaining mindfulness.

Mindful compassion course

This course is a six week online or in person course about compassion and how to find it, for yourself and for others. It is designed to look at compassion and some of the challenges to living compassionately.

The basis of the course is divided between mindfulness practice, difficult emotions and acceptance, increasing and building compassion, being compassionate and extending that compassion more widely.

Introduction to meditation

Fancy meditation? How about a six week introductory course covering the philosophy behind meditation, the benefits, guidance on creating a meditation practice, and of course, meditating using a variety of techniques, teachings and tools.

Meditation half day workshop

Either online or in person, perhaps a half day meditation workshop is for you. Find out about what meditation is and is not, the benefits of practice and easy ways to incorporate it into your life.

Finding balance in a busy world; wellbeing support for professionals

In conjunction with Heart of Living Yoga, this is a six week course designed to help busy professionals create time and space to allow you to find time for yourself, work more mindfully and deal with overwhelm, give confidence in setting boundaries and give you confidence to do your job well and be yourself.

This will include heart practice meditations and breathing exercises, as well as exercises for you to take away, such as questions to draw out the more personal thoughts about things like what success and happiness mean to you, what in your life you would like to find more time for, what at work causes you stress or anxiety, and provide tools to help make the the changes which you would like to see.

Mindful coaching

Mindful coaching is a coaching tool to help you apply mindfulness to your daily life. This six session course will focus on creating habits and happiness, using mindfulness techniques to improve daily life, focus, life balance, awareness and resilience.

Self esteem

This six week course will consist of worksheets designed to help improve your self esteem and a call each week to check in with how you are getting on, deal with any questions, and discuss the outcomes of the exercises.

The course is designed to look at what low self esteem is and the impact, how it develops and how it can cause core negative beliefs and how it is maintained. There will be exercises on biased expectations and negative valuations, with diaries, moving onto self acceptance and unhelpful rules. Finally we will look at balanced core beliefs and healthy self esteem.

Self compassion

This six week course will consist of worksheets designed to help find self compassion and a call each week to check in with how you are getting on, deal with any questions, and discuss the outcomes of the exercises.

This course will include a review of what self compassion is and what the barriers are to finding it, and preparing to be compassionate to yourself. It will look at compassionate living, thinking and behaviour.

Assertiveness and setting boundaries

This six week course will consist of worksheets designed to help improve your assertiveness and setting boundaries and a call each week to check in with how you are getting on, deal with any questions, and discuss the outcomes of the exercises.

We will look at how to recognise assertiveness and think and behave more assertively, how to say no, and how to deal with criticism, as well as physical tension. We will also look at dealing with disappointments and giving and receiving compliments. Alongside this we will talk about how to set and communicate healthy boundaries and how to put all of that together.

Procrastination

This six week course will consist of worksheets designed to help crack the cycle of procrastination and a call each week to check in with how you are getting on, deal with any questions, and discuss the outcomes of the exercises.

We will start by looking at what procrastination is and why we procrastinate. We will review the excuses used when we procrastinate and helpful and unhelpful conclusions, as well as tolerating discomfort, unhelpful rules and assumptions, as well as practical strategies to put in place to defeat procrastination.

Perfectionism

This six week course will consist of worksheets designed to help deal with unhelpful perfectionism and a call each week to check in with how you are getting on, deal with any questions, and discuss the outcomes of the exercises.

This course will look at understanding perfectionism and what keeps it going, how to reduce and change perfectionist behaviour and challenging perfectionism. It will look to reduce unhelpful rules and assumptions, and re-evaluate achievement, and put it altogether to be able to allow the perfectionist in you to take a break, and for you to find enjoyment in the things you achieve in the moment.

Worry

This six week course will consist of worksheets designed to help improve your anxiety and a call each week to check in with how you are getting on, deal with any questions, and discuss the outcomes of the exercises.

We all worry and get anxious, and sometimes it can be healthy, however, when it is so much so that it interferes with daily life, or causes stress, emotional and physical upheaval, it can be good to take a step back and evaluate your anxiety.

This course looks at healthy and unhealthy anxiety, negative thoughts and assumptions and how to challenge them, how to accept uncertainty and postpone or let go of worry and how mindfulness can help anxiety.
